Do the hard things.

Life is challenging, and if you don't already know by now then I think I should inform you that anything worth having in life is at the end of something difficult. Even down to the most basic of desires in life. You want a great cup of coffee that won't cost you $7 a cup? Then you have to go through the process of making it. You want a great homecooked meal instead of eating away at your paycheck every pay period? Then it comes with some work and effort. Even if it's one of those easy to make 3 step, just add water or milk style recipes.

We have to develop the will power to fight against our natural human state of comfort.

Our bodies naturally just want to be lazy. Our minds will love nothing more than to just rest and find more easier ways of doing things. However, this gets us nowhere. You want to settle for a mediocre life then take the easy route, but a life worth living will come with its fair share of challenges.

So, everyday, do something that challenges you.

Even if its something as simple as forcing yourself to get up and prepare dinner when you would much rather order takeout and watch tv. The magic is in developing the habit. How you do anything is how you do everything. By developing this mindset it will shift the way you view the world. It will activate the part of your brain that resists ease and comfort when it just wants to be lazy and then force you to spring into action so that you can live a more fulfilling life. You want to chase after your dreams and goals? Then that starts with doing the hard things and pushing yourself out of mediocrity and into greatness
